FunDay Sunday 14th June 2015

The popular Whitstable FunDay Sunday is due to take place on Tankerton Slopes, Marine Parade, Whitstable on Sunday 14 June 2015 from 11.00a.m. till 4.30p.m. Come along for a day out with attractions & entertainment for all the family including the traditional mix of charity, craft & trade stalls. There will be plenty of refreshments including hot & cold food; hot & cold drinks; ice cream; fudge; candy floss; sweets; churros; milkshakes; cider, mead & apple juice from Kingswood Cider.

Attractions booked so far include:

  • Flypast of Spitfire by Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - time to be confirmed.
  • Fairground rides featuring The Big Wheel.
  • Displays by Catscheer the cheerleading group from Canterbury.
  • A performance by The Breath of Life choir attached to the British Lung Foundation.
  • Face painting & Glitter tattoos by Funtastic Faces.
  • Punch & Judy, magic & balloon modelling by Uncle Myles.
  • Softy Tots play area suitable for toddlers.

Other attractions are still to be confirmed. The organisers reserve the right to alter any of the attractions should the need arise.

Tankerton Christmas Market Sunday 6th December 2015

For the 6th year running, Tankerton Christmas Market will take place at Whitstable Castle & Gardens on Sunday 6th December, opening at 11a.m. & closing at 4.30p.m. Once again, you can come & do your Christmas gift shopping in beautiful surroundings with craft, charity & trade stalls spread across the three floors of Whitstable castle, on the hard standing & grass outside in the grounds. Many stalls are already booked into the Castle after the success of last year's event. Further details of these stalls will be put on the website at a later date.

Refreshments will be available in Whitstable Castle's orangery; the outside unit selling traditional hot food & drinks; fudge; candy floss; cakes; cider, mead & apple juice from Kingswood Cider; & gluhwein from Whitstable Twinning Association.

Entertainment will include fairground rides suitable for children plus magic & balloon modelling by Uncle Myles. Other family entertainment will be booked before December.

New this year will be Santa Claus's Grotto in the Castle Studio. If you want to book to see Santa, let the organiser know & your request will be passed on.

Please note that there is no parking available on site for visitors or for stallholders. However, there is plenty of parking in surrounding roads & some in the Gorrell Tank car park facing the harbour. The organisers reserve the right to alter any of the attractions etc should the need arise.

Bookings for the following will not now be accepted as they are now booked up - catering; cakes; jewellery; fused glass; balloon modelling & Phoenix Trading. Though there is still space available in the Castle building itself, this is getting booked up very quickly, so do not delay if you want to take part.
