Tankerton Christmas Market Sunday 6th December 2015

For the 6th year running, Tankerton Christmas Market will take place at Whitstable Castle & Gardens on Sunday 6th December, opening at 11a.m. & closing at 4.30p.m. Once again, you can come & do your Christmas gift shopping in beautiful surroundings with craft, charity & trade stalls spread across the three floors of Whitstable castle and outside in the grounds.

Refreshments will be available in Whitstable Castle's orangery; the outside unit selling traditional hot food & drinks; candy floss; cakes; cider, mead & apple juice from Kingswood Cider; & gluhwein from Whitstable Twinning Association.

Entertainment will include fairground rides suitable for children, magic & balloon modelling by Uncle Myles and face painting. Also meet Joe Bows birds of prey. Other family entertainment will be booked before December.

New this year, the Castle Trust will be hosting Santa Claus's Grotto in the Castle Studio.

Please note that there is no parking available on site for visitors or for stallholders. However, there is plenty of parking in surrounding roads & some in the Gorrell Tank car park facing the harbour.

The organisers reserve the right to alter any of the attractions etc should the need arise. Please note that this is not the event known as 'Christmas at the Castle'.

If you are interested in taking part, please contact the organiser for booking information via whitfest@btinternet.com. There are still spaces available outside on grass & some on hard standing. However, there is now a waiting list for inside the Castle as all these tables have been booked. Bookings will not now be accepted for catering (hot & cold food & drinks);cakes; jewellery ; fused glass; balloon modelling; Utility Warehouse; Forever Living; Phoenix trading; leatherwork. Terms & conditions are as for the Whitstable FunDay Sunday and are available here. Public, product & employers liability insurance is required by all stallholders. These companies may be able to help if you do not have insurance.

FunDay Sunday 12th June 2016

Following the success of the 2015 event, it has been decided to repeat the event on Tankerton Slopes, Marine Parade, Whitstable (CT5 2BE) on Sunday 12 June 2016.The event will open to the public at 11.00a.m. & close at 5.00p.m. Admission to the general public is free but if you wish to take part in the event, please contact the organiser on whitfest@btinternet.com or read the booking information.

It is anticipated that there will many varied craft, charity & trade stalls again in 2016. In fact, as of 16 October 2015, some have already booked including catering including hot & cold drinks.

Attractions currently taking part include Kent Fire & Rescue Service doing a Road Safety Demonstration as in 2015. You will be able to have a go at archery with Joe’s Bows Country Sports. Joe will also be bringing his falconry display with owls and birds of prey. It is expected there will be a static & interactive display during the day with two flying displays from some of the birds. Other attractions are due to be booked, so watch this space.
